New Ford Cars on the Motability Scheme in Bridgend, South Wales

The Motability Scheme helps people with a disability exchange their mobility allowance for a new car, mobility scooter or electric wheelchair. We can't help you with a mobility scooter but we can help you get a fantastic new car using the mobility scheme.
You keep the car for three years, during which you can cover up to 60,000 miles. At the end of the three years, just hand the car back and you can start again.
It means you’ve always got the peace of mind of a reliable new Ford. It doesn’t matter if your disability prevents you from driving – you can still lease a car and arrange for someone else, like a family member or a carer, to drive it for you.
This also makes Motability perfect if you only have one car in your household. You may be eligible to join the scheme if you receive any of the following:
Higher Rate Mobility Component of the Disability Living Allowance (HMRC DLA)
Enhanced Rate of Personal Independent Payment (PiP)
War Pensioners’ Mobility Supplement (WPMS)
Armed Forces Independence Payment (AFIP)

Check If You Are Eligible

The Scheme provides worry-free motoring with your insurance, breakdown cover, servicing, maintenance and repairs included in the price you’re quoted. If you need any adaptations, these can be done too – typically at no extra cost. The only extra thing you have to cover is the cost of fuel.

Bridgend Ford have been helping customers across South Wales enjoy the independence afforded by the Motability Scheme for over 30 years.

We offer a wide range of Ford models through the scheme, so you can access the vehicle you and your family need. From the compact Fiesta to the practical Kuga SUV and Galaxy MPV, there’s a model to suit every home. Many include nil advance payment, and some come with cashback as a welcome bonus.

If you need a specific, larger car because of your disability and cannot afford the Advance Payment required. Or, if you require essential adaptions or a Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle that can sometimes cost more, Motability (the charity) may also be able to provide financial help depending on your circumstances.

Personal Independence Payment (PIP) is replacing Disability Living Allowance (DLA) for disabled people between the ages of 16 and 64, even those with an "indefinite" or "lifetime" award. Disabled children will continue to receive DLA until they reach the age of 16. DLA will also continue to be available for those who were aged 65 or over on 8 April 2013 (20 June 2016 in Northern Ireland).

If you are awarded the Enhanced Rate of the Mobility Component of PIP, you will continue to be able to lease a car, scooter or powered wheelchair through the Motability Scheme.
