The 2017 Ford Ecosport has been spotted testing ahead of an expected debut later this year. The compact SUV was first unveiled in 2012 so is due a mid-life facelift and this prototype offers us a glimpse of the changes we can expect. Despite the partial camouflage, the Ecosport prototype looks to have a restyled front bumper with a new black section in the middle, and the rear bumper also appears to have been lightly tweaked.
Across all markets, we can expect the 2017 Ecosport to inherit Ford’s Sync3 infotainment technology, as all of Ford's smaller models adopt the system from 2017 onwards.
Little else is expected to change with the facelift, so it seems likely that the current car’s engine line-up - 1.0-litre three-cylinder petrol, 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol and 1.5-litre four-cylinder diesel – will be retained.
The facelifted car’s starting price is also expected to stay close to the current car’s £14,645.
No dates have been confirmed yet, but insiders think the 2017 Ford Ecosport will be revealed sometime in the middle of 2017.
