Upon first glance, the Nugget looks pretty much like any other Transit Custom van; on closer inspection, it more closely resembles the Kombi minivan. There’s significantly more to this vehicle, however…

     Privacy assured With dark-tinted glass fitted on all rear windows, the Nugget provides a home from home on the road, one that protects the modesty of each traveller at certain times of the day.
    Tilting roof A compact and adjustable roof provides an even greater feeling of interior space than already exists. For instance, it automatically increases headroom while delivering enhanced ventilation. It’s also designed to provide optimal vehicular aerodynamics when fully raised.
    Quickclear convenience Fitted as standard, a Quickclear heated windscreen makes light work of mist, fog, snow or ice, ensuring the driver is able to get each trip underway with the minimum of fuss.
    Alloys as standard The Nugget rides on minimum-size 16-inch alloy wheels whose lightweight yet hard-wearing design contributes towards enhanced efficiency and performance – they look rather nice too.

       By day… … the Nugget comfortably accommodates five full-size adults, which means it’s positively palatial where a young family of five is concerned. During rest and lunch breaks, the two front seats swivel around to create a relaxing communal area.
      By night… … the Nugget really comes into its own, with rear seats transforming into beds that accommodate two adults. Meanwhile, the vehicle’s folding, tilting roof provides sleeping spaces for two adults, with a ladder providing easy access.
      Time to relax An adjustable table serves as the basis for dining and recreational activities – or as a work desk. There’s also an adjustable, 400W fuel-fired heating system, a warm-water boiler and a cold-water shower (or warm with larger LWB models, which also feature an additional sink, and toilet).
      Meals on wheels A 40-litre fridge and a two-hob gas stove are powered by a 12-volt supply. There’s a full-size kitchen sink too (with a 42-litre water supply) – and all of this is kept distinct from the main passenger/sleeping area.

         That’s entertainment An eight-inch colour touchscreen display provides an intuitive portal to a six-speaker sound system, which includes an FM/AM tuner and a DAB digital radio. Meanwhile, Bluetooth connectivity enables you to stream your favourite music and spoken-word content.
        Safe and secure The likes of Hill-start Assist, Lane-keeping Aid, front-and-rear parking sensors, a rear-view camera, automatic headlights and LED daytime running lights ensure that each journey is as safe as can be. At night, or when leaving the vehicle unattended, remote-control central locking and Safeguard’s Passive Anti-theft System offer welcome peace of mind.
        More infotainment highlights USB (and AUX) ports are available for plugging, playing and charging your compatible devices. Also, Android Auto/Apple CarPlay enables the driver to safely and easily access his or her smartphone via the aforementioned SYNC 3-based touchscreen.
        Efficiency without compromise A 2.0-litre Ford EcoBlue diesel engine generates 128bhp and 360Nm (or 168bhp and 390Nm, depending on the engine you choose). This produces CO2 emissions from 151g/km (or 154g/km) while delivering power and torque aplenty. Furthermore, a standard-issue Auto Start-Stop system helps to optimise fuel efficiency.
