Bridgend Ford - Run 4 Wales

Go The Distance

Run 4 Wales (R4W) is a not-for-profit social enterprise and charitable trust set-up to promote, manage and deliver major sporting events.

Established in 2012, we have grown into one of the UK’s best-known mass participation event organisers, driven by a desire to deliver world-class events with a positive social agenda.

Our events provide a platform to champion mental health, women’s running, community regeneration, diversity, volunteering, fundraising and environmental sustainability.

THE OGI PORTHCAWL 10K

The Ogi Porthcawl 10K is an exciting race in the town known for surf, sports and coastal walks, and forms part of the R4W 10K Series.

A summertime hotspot for both locals and visitors – Porthcawl is renowned for shining under the sun. The 10K race takes place on closed-roads, taking in a number of landmarks and stunning seaside spots including Rest Bay, Trecco Bay, Coney Bay, the picturesque town centre, historic Grand Pavillion and the iconic Porthcawl Lighthouse.

A host of other sporting activities for families and children are also included in the day’s action – including an electrifying Family Fun Run, giving budding athletes a chance to take their first footsteps into running.

THE CDF 10K

The CDF 10K has been added to Run 4 Wales (R4W)’s portfolio of world-class mass participation events.

The revival of this iconic and historic event will give thousands of runners the opportunity to take to the streets in the heart of the Welsh capital, as part of a race set to become one of the UK’s largest distance events. The race takes runners on a flat and fast sightseeing tour of Cardiff, with highlights including Cardiff Castle, Central Square and the Principality Stadium.

The race will journey through the heart of central Cardiff, before crossing the River Taff and heading towards the leafy suburb of Pontcanna and the grade 2 listed parkland of Llandaff and Pontcanna Fields. Runners will then pass Sophia Gardens, the home of Welsh cricket, before a grandstand finish in the Edwardian Civic Centre.
